Good music, smooth controls. Easy mode is great for kids, hard is real jigsaw.

120% recommended. JiPS is a jigsaw puzzle game involving Ships. There are three types Mediterranean, Asian, and Caribbean with 10 puzzles for each type. You can do the puzzles in the following formats 6 x 8, 12 x 16, and 15 x 20. Some of the puzzles simply auto complete at 6 x 8 due to the picture not worth doing at that setting. The only issue I have with this game is that when you complete a puzzle it says complete on any setting making it hard to know if you've done it. For example I do the third puzzle on 6 x 8 when I go to the same puzzle at 12 x 16 or 15 x 20 it will say complete. This makes it hard when chasing after the 100% completion achievements since all it takes is to miss one puzzle and you got to go back trying to figure out which one you missed. It's not a game breaking issue for me since I just kept track with my notebook but I can see it being a pain in the rear if you missed one and had to go back.. Simple yet satisfying. Jips delivers several ship puzzles without the dog running off with and eating your puzzle pieces. It's not perfect but for the money it's not that bad. I'm not aware of many other games like it on steam so it's kind of unique. If Jips is not for you at least you won't be out much money. I spent more time with it than I thought I would.

Why would I solve the same puzzle in 6x8, 12x16 or 15x20? 15x20 is kind of fun, there are pretty pictures. But, if I solved this, why should I replay it in 6x8?!? Who would even start with this? There is absolutely no match in 6x8. OK, you could argue, then don't play it in 6x8. But... Who would do so? If archievements are a must-have, it's just a bloody dumb test. Moreover, I can't see, which on I've solved already. If you solve a 15x20, you get a simple "Completed".
Doesn't see any others reporting this, as I played, I often start a new puzzle and all pieces are crowded above of the screen. Or some tiles (first three lines) are displayed in the puzzle itself and the rest at the bar to the right. Starting one puzzle, the puzzle was even almost solved? Got to be a bug...

So, if you're a hardcore puzzle fan, take it. Else, you better off with the Pixel Puzzle Series.
I stopped playing at the end of Medieval Ships.. are you nostalgic feeling for Wind of Luck: Arena Cpt. Barbossa?

About This Game

Alien Invaders from the Planet Plorth is a shooter game in which the player moves sideways trying to dodge enemy bullets. The player is positioned in the center of the screen with top and bottom enemies moving closer towards the player. The game automatically ends if an enemy reaches the center of the screen.

Shoot all enemies and move on to the next level. On every 10th level, you will have to defeat a more difficult "boss" enemy that shoots orbs and brings down a beam toward the center line. You lose a life if one of those orbs or beam hits you.

This game gives the player the option to play from 3 levels of difficulty:

  • Easy mode:
    Player can shoot unlimited bullets.

  • Normal mode:
    Player can shoot 2 bullets at a time. Bullets must hit enemies or disappear at top/bottom of the screen before player can shoot another 2 bullets.

  • Hard mode:
    Player can only shoot 1 bullet at a time. Bullet must hit enemy or disappear at top/bottom of the screen before player can shoot another bullet.

You also have the option to toggle between windowed/fullscreen mode and toggle music and sound on/off.

High score feature automatically saves your high score at each level throughout the game and loads the saved high score next time you play.

    90% of my time with this game was spent clicking through dialogue. Hardly even cyberpunk.. fantastic charming visual novel, I highly recommend it.. There isn't enough rule 34 of this game.. Probably one of the few people out here still playing this game in 2019 xD.

    Long story short, honestly, this game was probably one of the best games i've ever played.
    It's story-telling, characterization, easy gameplay, soothing soundtrack was everything I needed. Something about this game just drew me towards it. It just kept me coming back again and again to that bar called Va-11 Hall-A. Weirdly enough, it was just the type of game that I needed right now, so my review may be biased. Listening to other people's stories, laughing at the jokes, it was a very different and immersive experience. But I enjoyed every single second of it.

    Would definitely recommend if you aren't into gameplay heavy games and like plot-heavy games where your choices (in this case the drinks you serve) impact the storyline. From my very very biased point of view, I'd give this game a solid 10\/10.. This is a visual novel with really beautiful art and highly catchy music. The main gameplay involves making cocktails since you're playing as a bartender in a cyberpunk world. This game mechanic isn't challenging at all because the focus of the game is the conversations the player has with the patrons of the bar. The meat of the game, one could say, is learning about the lives of these people and the world they inhabit through these conversations.
    Unfortunately, the writing is not good. This is catastrophic for a game like this, which depends so much on what the characters say to make it interesting rather than just visually and musically appealing. However, every character has close to the same vocabulary and sentence style, thereby degrading my belief in them as individual people with unique lives. Much of the social commentary sounds like the accumulated thoughts of one guy thinking about society rather than the drunken realizations of the patrons themselves. The world building isn't that effective either since I never got a coherent picture of what Glitch City is like, as half the time what's described is some kind of unfunny joke.

    I do not recommend this game. There are games that have more enjoyable characters and make better social commentary than this one. When actually playing the game, the aspects of it that are good do not make up for the parts that are bad.. I can't recommend this game enough, it is an absolutely amazing game with awesome memorable characters and stories. The game has a fantastic soundtrack and a gorgeous pixel art style. If you are into visual novels, or you are looking for something to kick back and relax to, then this is your game.

I love this style of game, and this is the best in the genre. Works perfectly, no bugs, very fun and challenging. The music was great too. I just beat the game by getting all 3 stars on all levels and bonus levels, so now I need to find a new strategy time game.. This is a simple copy of My Kingdom for the Princess. Whatever, I loved that game, I'm down. I played through the main story (way too easy) and ran out of upgrades to buy about halfway through. I continued into the bonus levels hoping they would be a little more challenging. I had no problem closing and reopening the game previously, but upon reopening it again, I discovered all my progress wiped, my old user totally gone. Waste of six bucks for a badly re skinned game that will wipe your save.. Great game for low price. I have 1, 2, 3, and 6 and finished them all and got over 100 hours of enjoyment for under $10 for all 4 on sale. Warning for those like myself who bought it thinking it was a city builder. I love this game! I guess at first it was odd with the different voices than in Tunguska but still really fun to play :). The second game of the Secret Files serie is a good one too, even if i preferred the first one. I just not liked the story as much.... I enjoyed the first one, though many of the flaws are still present in the sequel. The voice acting is atrocious, with dialogue seemingly dragging on forever with pointless conversations that really don't need to be as long as they are.

The puzzles are... random and often don't make sense. I've played a lot of point-and-click adventures over the years, but even I had to resort to reading walkthroughs occasionally. Rather than solving puzzles through logic, often it is a simple case of clicking on every item in your inventory until one of them works.. Whilst not as good as the original Secret Files, this sequel does have its highlights and features an engaging plot. Worth buying if you want to know what happened next in the lives of Nina Kalenkov and Max Gruber.. A rather big step down in quality from the already mediocre Secret Files 1: Tunguska. Everything is worse here: The graphics, the story, the music, the puzzles, the characters, and - holy hell - the voice acting! Literally some of the worst acting and voice direction I've heard in my life. You know you're in trouble when you constantly want to gnaw your mouse-clicking hand off while being exposed to yet another lengthy and supremely annoying internal monologue delivered with a warbling vibrato.

And the jokes - don't get me started on the "jokes". The quips in this game are so embarrassingly bad, the fourth-wall-breaking references so completely out of place that they soil the whole tone of the game. Puritas Cordis doesn't seem to be able to decide whether it's supposed to be taken halfway seriously or as a complete farce. Every other character you run into spews nothing but sarcasm at you, and the main character positively oozes sarcasm from her every pore. You can't have coherent dialogue when everybody's sarcastic! Conversations are mostly comprised of annoying drivel that goes on and on a good while after stating the obvious while throwing dead-on-arrival puns in the mix.

Even the puzzles are, for the most part, insane. Gone are the relatively coherent and logical puzzles of the original - You need to be on some pretty heavy medication to come up with the solutions to a few of the crazier brain-benders in here. Avoid if you value your sanity.. Funny dialogues. Story is a little weird.
The game is short enough to be enjoyable.. This is a pitiful excuse for a game and a disgrace for the genre. I clawed my way through it, and by the time I was halfway through I was THIS close to going insane from:

-) the lousy voice acting
-) the wannabe funny dialogues, that end up being nothing short of awkwardly bad
-) the ludicrous story and
-) the disastrous "riddles".

Here's a random example of the latter: Find random "noisemaker" on the ground at a zoo, use it to lure a pair of DUCKS halfway through Paris back to the Zoo so that the zookeeper will give you one of the baguettes he's convieniently sharing to feed them, give baguette to homeless man who apparently spent his entire life waiting for such a selfless act and immediately turns sober so that you can have his old booze, which you then use to be incarcerated for being drunk only to bust back out 5 minutes later with about the lamest of explanations).

In short, this game tries, it really does. But it just falls short in pretty much every aspect that make an adventure game good, and just makes for a very tedious experience of about 4 hours from start to finish. Avoid if you can.. I kinda liked it :o)

I'm a sucker for mystery, conspiracy and\/or secret society stories, and that is what you get here. The story isn't fully fleshed or in any way intricate, but rather a bit shallow and simplified. One can't help to think that they could've done a lot more to get a more fully story told, but I still found it entertaining enough.

It's an old game now, and it shows through looking at the characters, several backdrops and the cutscenes. Several are a bit blurry and low on detail. However, some backdrops looks a bit sharper. Anyway, it probably looked damn good when it came out, and it doesn't look half bad today. That is acceptable.

The voice acting is overall ok, but it lacks a bit emotion and suspence. There are several tongue-in-cheek comments from the main characters that sometime works and sometimes don't. It is hard to tell at times if the game takes itself seriously or not.

Figuring out the puzzles in this game was entertaining enough, with proper clues given and mostly quite logical solutions. Sometimes, though, they felt a bit cheap and out of context. The locations you go to are also mostly interesting.

The game as a whole seems based on a good foundation, but a bit rushed and inconsistent. The coincidences within the story is a bit too much to swallow. I'm sure it is probably based on time and budget like most others. Either way it is still entertaining enough to enjoy if you are into these sorts of things.

I also played the first in the series and enjoyed that one as well. There are a few references to the previous game but you certainly don't need to play that one to enjoy this. It is a whole seperate storyline.

I can absolutely recommend this game for fans of point'n'click adventure games and for people who like a bit of mystery. If you're not into these types of games to begin with, it is probably not going to change your mind.

I rate it 6\/10, because it has aged a bit and has that thin storyline. If I had played it when it came out and rated it at the time it might have been rated a bit higher.

TJ. As with the previous game "Secret Files 1" I had a blast with this one as well, the game is very divers in scenery, has a great plot, nice puzzles, great diversity of chars with very decent speach actors and also some funny references to the first part.
All in all again a gem of a game, highly recommended!

Another small update just while I continue work on update 19.

  • Should now get slightly more money when selling in bulk to the market.
  • New icon on market items that shows if the prices for said item are still calculating.
  • Changes to market item tooltips.
  • Changes to how the market prices are calculated.
  • Should now be more thieves.
  • Pickpocketing and waylaying should now be easier.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented AI businesses from checking trading posts for goods when the markets had none.
  • Heirs will only be shown if they are 16 or older.

Just another small update to address a few things.

  • Tweaked AI owned businesses so they sell goods sooner
  • Fixed a bug where the player's heir wouldn't take over some businesses

Just a small update while I work towards a bigger one.

Fixes
  • When gifting a house they will now decide to live in it if it is better than their current house.
  • Fixed bug that would empty player inventory on load.
  • Fixed foraging when out of season.
  • Fixed bug that meant the pyre could kill people near it.
  • Fixed some saving and loading bugs.

Changes
  • Earlier trading post work hours.
  • You can now again see the current task on characters, but it is vague for non-family members.

Hey all!

Hope you're having a great holiday period. It has been a while but I have a large update for you all to enjoy.

Thanks to those who have done some really great testing for this update.


New Stuff & Changes
  • Newer Herbalist Hut building.
  • Changes to marriage acceptance making it a bit harder.
  • New Well building.
  • A knowledge system. Most actions have this knowledge system attached to them and when people do these actions they get better and better at them.
  • New buff that increases rate of learning for the knowledge system when people are well fed and rested.
  • Scroll wheel now works for scrolling UI windows.
  • People will now stock up on medicine when they can and store it in their home.
  • Changes to some work hours.
  • Changes to some productions. A few recipes have changed slightly and dried fish is now cured fish.
  • People can now give birth to twins.
  • New Alehouse building and upgrades.
  • Changes to the market system – including price calculations and some new UI.
  • A Punishment Pit has been added for when people cannot pay fines after committing crimes.
  • You now have the option to flee from a guard after breaking the law which will add a bounty to your character and make you an outlaw. People will slowly start to talk about you and the news that you’re an outlaw will spread from person to person. People who know you’re an outlaw will have an icon above their head and will report you on sight.
  • Guards now have a break from patrolling at around midnight.
  • Kissing and other close contact has the chance of passing on illnesses.
  • A new type of notification that appears at the top right. These notifications will tell you when you learn a new skill or when you’re warm, cold, etc.
  • Less monks and guards at game start.
  • Tree, foliage, terrain, and snow changes.
  • You can now click the background graphic for a inventory in the trading window to select the corresponding cart or character.
  • Herbalist Huts now sell medicine directly.
  • You can now buy produced goods directly from Alehouses, Bakehouses, and Herbalist Huts.
  • Dozens of changes to the AI – businesses, carts, employees, productions, etc.
  • Many changes and optimisations made to the maps.
  • Updated tutorial.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed bug where businesses weren’t hiring properly in some cases.
  • Fixed bug that allowed people to get pregnant multiple times at once.
  • Fixed some building navigation issues.
  • Fixed where people would not sober up properly after being drunk.

Hi all,

Another update going live.

  • Greet world interaction (long right click at location) - While in this mode your character will be extra approachable and people will come to chat. A good way to meet the towns people. This mode is cancelled when you move.
  • Extra details about what your spouse is spending money on.
  • Crop bonus for field size is no longer an upgrade and will happen automatically.
  • People more likely to stay in the Alehouse over night. Priced lowered.
  • Storage changes - Most buildings now have the same max stack (60) when fully upgraded. Most buildings will now also have six storage upgrades. Some buildings have additional upgrades to add more slots.
  • Basic automation has been added - You can now set your business to produce goods automatically, set a budget for purchasing goods, and instruct when to sell goods. This is still quite rough and will be expanded on.
  • Fixed a bug where Alehouse workers would leave their jobs for no reason.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause corrupt characters.
  • Fixed a bug where if both corrals were set to the same there was no added bonus.
  • Farmhouse should now be easier to select.
  • Tweaks to some farm productions.
